Just saw this on FB Marketplace, and the price looks reasonable. I don't know anything more than what the ad says.

There are lots of people building banjo bases. I’ve made a few, Goldtone have one in their range.

Like I posted, I couldn't check out the ad because it links to Facebook. That is one of my pet peeves, when someone posts a topic and just assumes that everybody is on Facebook.

I'm not on Facebook either, but just x'd out the opening window and could watch the advertisement and also listen to it. Interesting but not something I'd find of interest to me.

To all the FB haters: I get it, but you're also missing out on some excellent stuff. You can avoid the bad effects of FB by creating a "sock puppet" account (in another name) and not "friend" everyone you know, and they can't "friend" you since they don't know who you are (thus, you don't get sucked into everyone's drama). But there is a lot of good band news and bluegrass news on FB, and FB Marketplace is honestly the best place to find used things on the Internet. I have bought several instruments off FB Marketplace at prices you wouldn't see offered here.

I asked fellow I met that plays/made a banjo bass about his build and he said he had put frets on it originally but the fret wire ate his bass strings in a weeks time so he pulled them. It made me wonder why? Are the wrapped strings softer? I know double bass strings are expensive but last a long time on a regular double bass.
