Feel free to let the humor flow.
I recently started playing more bass, and am finding things out(learning) everyday.
Someone here commented on the importance of the 1(beat)
Like I said, I'm learning.
Have you ever been bullied by a bass beat, either speeding or dragging, or "what the h@ll? This is a Waltz you @##$%!"
Thrice, I say, I'm learning.
I've had many good examples, but many things I've learned from poor examples as well.

Not sure why Eric hasn't done a bass hangout, but talkbass.com seems pretty decent.

If I remember correctly, there used to be a basshangout. I think it just didn't get enough interest for Eric to keep it, but I'm not sure that's the reason.
There is a bass forum called TalkBass if you're interested in bass forums. Check it out. Dave used to belong to it a long time ago and he found it interesting and informative. That was over 10 years ago, so I have no idea what it's like now. (oops, someone beat me to the TalkBass forum info).

Even the guitar hangout is pretty anemic,, it would behoove all guitar pickers reading this to support it , even if it means slinging out banjo joaks .
As for bass forums, they usually go in the ditch cuz the mods are always stoned.

There’s always Bass Pro. Haven’t found any guitars there yet

It's just crazy RESPONSIBILITY. I can't hardly stand it. You are the drawbar pulling the whole dang thing along. Yet you have to listen to whomever called the tune to lead.
The best bassists I've ever heard were so intuitive. So care-free. Sure, one was drunk most of the time, but he never missed a lick.

There once was a BassHangout. Eric started with BanjoHangout around 2001 (I think). In 2010 he launched a bunch of more Hangouts: Mando, Fiddle, Guitar, Dobro and Bass (maybe there was also a Drum Hangout?). He closed the BassHangout after some year because there were no interest in it.
I think there are very low frequncy on the other HangOuts, and even BanjoHangout seems to be exhausted compared with ten years ago. So I guess there is a limited interest from Eric to start new Hangouts.
