I need to add a cadenza in a transcription using MuseScore. Do other users know if this is possible in the free version?

I’ve googled how to do this and the answer given is using the measure properties menu. I don’t have anything of this name in the menu in my version.

As far as I know, you simply adjust the "actual" measure size to suit your cadenza. This is done in the "measure properties" menu. I would select the note value needed (4/8/16/32, etc.) and then up the number of notes you need for the measure. I think the size is unlimited.



It worked in mine, which is the free version.

The "measure properties" is accessed by highlighting the measure you want and right clicking. "Measure Properties" will be the last thing on the pop up menu you invoke with a right click.

Thank you, Marc. That's reassuring that this feature is included in the free version of MuseScore. I'm using a Mac and don't have the mouse right-click option. I'll have to see if there's a way to access 'measure properties' without using a mouse...

From what I can research, Mac users call this a "secondary click" or "control click." Your Trackpad may recognize this as a two-finger tap or a ctrl+tap on a highlighted measure.

Like you said, at least the feature is there!
