This is a transcription from the 1894 "A" notation original that Joel Hooks uploaded to his Internet Archive site. I transcribed it to C notation and to Tab. There's an mp3 too!
J. H. Jennings was a Banjo and Guitar teacher in Rhode Island, USA, back in the day. He self-published a good number of beginner's pieces. Most of them are fairly average in quality but some of them (like this one) are fun. Note: I ran the mp3 a good bit faster than the music actually calls out. To me, it needed to be faster...the mp3 is running 144bpm but its in 4/4, so not too fast. Jaunty surf music!
