I have not sold a banjo of this type for quite a while. Could some of you check my ad and see if the price seems reasonable or if I need to modify it? I'm not sure if I may be high?

It looks good to me . Good price . Plenty of pics and info. If you’re happy with it ? It looks like you’ve covers everything. Best of luck . Remember it yours . You can change whatever you want . If it doesn’t sell in an appropriate time, you can always go back and lower your price .

Should’ve read charge . You can also go back in and edit anytime you want until it sold . I recently sold a banjo on here . When it sold or was pending sale It marked it as sold and took my edit option away . Be advised of that snafu . Best of Luck

You may have issues because people will pay that kind of money for: (1) A brand name; or (2) a particularly good sound and feel. I would be hesitant to send $2,500 for a banjo I have not even heard. Can you post some quality sound samples?

In the end, all banjos are "parts banjos." But the market wants what it wants. And someone concerned about resale value will have to deal with the same issues. I have seen lots of parts banjos posted for probably less than the cost of the parts. And the sum of all good parts is not always a good banjo. So your price might be a bargain for someone who cares more about feel and sound than name brand. But he or she has nothing to go on at this point.

It looks to be a quality banjo. In my experience, I would say you are at a premium price for most "parts banjos". You are into the price range of some decent banjos that are not mixed. Yours is the kind of banjo someone would play and fall in love with, more than buy from an internet ad.

I am hesitant to price another person's instrument that I don't even know, but if you want a guess, mine would be to ask in the upper teens.

While I agree you're asking top dollar for a home-built banjo, I'd say maybe give it a while before you lower the price. You might as well give the ad a chance to work.

That being said, my gut feel is non-factory, unknown maker, banjos are a tough sell over $2,000 no matter how good the parts, assembly, playability and sound. But I could be wrong, which is why I say wait at least a bit.

I'm sitting on a parts banjo that includes several genuine Gibson parts that I can't decide whether to sell as a whole banjo or part out. So I have more than a casual interest in how or whether your banjo sells.
