Our 115 year old toilet has been “running” for a long time. A trickle at first, that finally led to a 20.00 increase in our monthly water bill.
Of coarse I had to replace some parts with original style works. Those ol Wolverine style filler ballcocks can be cantankerous, for sure. But most of the problem turned out to be in the overflow tube. A couple of good schmear layers of Flexseal underwater glue fixed that. Sometimes it’s the little things that make you feel like a big man…Especially at my age.
Now I can finish planting the gardens and get back to working on my truck-the fun stuff! Brad

Must of been The Weeknd to work on toilets Brad . I rebuilt or built this ol classic for the fishing boat. No leaks!!!

Brad ...... new toilets from Lowes or Home Depot are really not that expensive and once you buy/use the taller "comfort seating" ones you will be glad you did. I bought two after my wife's heart attack and installed them myself ....... easy to do.

Sage advice, until you know my wife. The only way she would allow replacement of that toilet, original to the house, would be if a meteor tore through the roof and broke it. Brad

That looks like my wellsite potty. I drop a tall kitchen bag in to it. If its yellow, I let it mellow...If its brown I tie it up and toss it down. Brad

Dale, one caution. I have made a living where I use 4 of those plastic buckets for various needs on the job. They crack! across the bottom, or down the side-seemingly out of the blue. And the bags sometimes are not 100% sealed at the bottom. Brad
