Looks like a very well played and much loved instrument -- and one that's now in need of some TLC itself, particularly that crack in the heel. The rest of it, including the loose purfling, is mostly cosmetic. What can't be determined from the pics (which are excellent), is whether a refretting is also needed. It's a beautiful banjo and let's hope it gets the care it deserves. SETH
