…Or what did you eat?

We are serving a slab of salmon I will cook it on the flat top. (Fingers crossed). Marilyn did the table, though I try to talk her out of going so far. She is roasting carrots and made  lemon bars. our two daughters are bringing other sides.. It’s nice when even our small family can be together. Brad

With the enthusiastic agreement of my youngest sister, I'm going Polish Easter this year. Kielbasa, golabki and pierogi. This will be the first time I've done pierogi from scratch.

Just the 2 of us, so I'm doing a ham steak, macaroni and cheese, and asparagus.

Brad, please tell Marilyn she outdid herself on that table setting!!! Amazing!!!
Anything would taste good in that setting!!!

We’ve been in a food slump lately, and quite frankly, nothing sounds good and I’ve had no cravings for anything Easter. The weather has been terrible and we are alone this Easter and just chilling by ourselves, soooooooo,
In true Sunday tradition, I’m making Pizza. I know, I know, but when Mrs. Slammer made the suggestion, I was all in . So my Easter will involve lounging and having a beautiful breakfast casserole, playing banjo and putting new strings on a couple banjos, napping , and making Sunday pizza followed by another slice of Mrs. Slammers Coconut Cream Pie!!!
Happy Easter Everyone!!!
Slammer!!!

Unless golabki is another word for golumpki or golishki,  I am not sure what it is? Brad

I wish Marilyn would not do so much.  It is getting more difficult for her to dress a table like that nowadays.  But, I will pass on the kind comments.  As to your food slump-I am sure with the onset of spring something will inspire you out of that slump. Brad

Same. Cabbage leaves stuffed with meat, rice and seasonings

Her table setting is beautiful. I'll bet she thinks it's worth the extra effort and work.

Just me, so nothing fancy. Bacon, eggs and hashbrowns for brunch, Mexican food for supper: tamale, enchilada, beans, salad.

I knew it had to be.  I will let Marilyn know that. In her mother's upbringing in Saarland and Brooklyn. They called them galushki's (pardon spelling).  My next door neighbor grew up in the Polish district of Boston, they called them galumpki's.  In Marilyn's family-no tomato.  Marilyn makes them annually, and she taught the kids how to make them.  Brad

Dinner is over, all are gone. Here are a few pics. Slab o Salmon on the flat top with a butter, lemon, caper, dill sauce, homemade hot cross buns, and asparagus and egg tart from older daughter, roast carrots from Marilyn, deviled eggs from other daughter- stove oven broke Friday. And treats and wines. With a mimosa starter. Brad

BTW, I noticed my pics were a bit hazy. I thought the lenses needed cleaned. I looked and the primary lens glass is shattered with pieces Missing. Arghhh. I hope Verizon is still offering “free” upgrades? Brad

I am going to have to retool and rethink how to turn over a big slab of salmon, about 16-18" long and about 10" across at the big end, 3-1/2lb. I had two fairly big spats and I started the slab skin side up on top of some wiped on avocado oil. The flesh did not stick, but the slab just wanted to slide or break. What say you? Brad

Bought a nice spiral ham with glaze and a few fixings. The family went different directions so I was alone. Ham went in the freezer for another holiday.

I had a nice salad with a minimum of ranch dressing. Very minimum. The Doc has been on me about my cholesterol and sugar. Yes, the two things that make living worthwhile. Had some hot unsweetened green tea as well.
