Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before. Looking for feedback from anyone who has tried Allision de Groot's ArtistWorks clawhammer banjo course. If you tried it, please share your overall impressions. Were you able to learn the material that you hoped you would learn when you tried it? Did you stick with the course past a free 30-day trial? Wondering if she teaches a lot of tunes in the course? I would enjoy learning tunes and not just exercises.

A great teacher and an excellent learning program!



You’ll have to have patience with the fact that some tabs do not accurately reflect the notes being played on the videos! If you are good with your ears…. a piece of cake! If you need accurate tab it may be a bit of a challenge.



Lots of variety and numerous tunings will hold your interest and keep you focused.



If you find value in the video exchanges.... then the course is worth its weight in gold!

Mark, thanks for your replies, and you're correct, it's a 7-day free trial period. Sorry, I should have looked at the trial period freebie more closely. I stopped playing clawhammer banjo a few years ago, when I started Bryan Sutton's flatpicking guitar course on ArtistWorks. I few days ago, I picked up my banjo again, tuned it, and I'm bitten by the bug again (but I forgot a lot and think it might be best to start from the beginning)!

In reference to your initial question….

Yes, there are lots of tunes!
Furthermore, you can submit video exchanges with tunes that are not in the course. Therefore, you should never experience a shortage of tunes!

Just wondering….

Are you aware of Evie Ladin’s Peghead Nation course? Definitely an abundance of tunes there!
