I know this topic is worn out and I know I’m going to hear about the hazards of gig bags.
Bottom line I need a new one for a bluegrass banjo. It’s just easier to carry a guitar and banjo if one is in a bag.

So, any input on a favorite, recent, gig bag purchase? I never care about cases till I need one.

Crossrock has a decent looking one at a reasonable price. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Access Stage 3 is a good one.

The Reunion Blues Continental Voyager bag is really nice, but it might be discontinued. They have one now called the Expedition, which has more room for stuff.

Do at least look at a listing for a fabric-covered rigid foam case. Gator may make the only one still available.

Protection almost equal to a hard case (against drops and bumps maybe) and not a lot heavier than a padded bag. Plus it has straps for backpacking like a bag.

I bought one for taking my banjo to jams when I lived in Brooklyn and had to take the subway to all of them and sometimes walk a half-mile from and back to the train. Uphill on the return trip.

The bag was better for that than my Carlton case! I felt more confident with it than a bag.

I have the Reunion Blues continental voyager and highly recommend it. I take it a lot of places and it’s as protective as a lot of hard cases and comfortable to wear on your back.

I have used the Boulder Alpine gig bag for years going to jams. Last year I switched to a Crossrock rigid foam case. I had their 200 series case and liked it, but it quickly developed problems; when I contacted Crossrock (who stands by their products) they sent me the new 300 series case which is much better and still light in weight.

Thanks all. I have been jonesing after the Reunion Blues cases for twenty years.
I have a foam guitar case. They are just too bulky.
Thanks again.

I sell the Boulder Alpine Deluxe Resonator Banjo Gig Bag. I have others available but this is the only one I like enough to keep in stock and I could ship tomorrow. Desert Sand only.

Feel free to PM me for the current price—please include your Zip code.
