I have no ties to this seller on craigslist, but there is an exceptionally great deal on a Deering banjo in Charlotte, NC.
A 1993 Deering Standard banjo for $750. Wow. If I had some spare cash I'd drive up there and grab it.

Posting here so that someone nearby might get a great deal on a great banjo.

I had one from the same year that I sold for $1200, and it wasn't in this good of condition. This is a great deal. The 1993s were still kinda "tight and bright," but good. For that price, you can have someone do a quality rim-ring fit to open it up a little and you would still not be upside down.

That’s a lifer, for someone who wants a hard core player, without a bunch of fancy inlay.
My first good banjo was an early Sierra. It took over 20 years and several other high end banjos, to realize how good it was. I recently found another one, and this time I won’t ever let it go. Interestingly, mine also came (used) with one of those bridges with white inserts. They must have been popular at some point in the past.
I wish the photos were higher resolution. Looks like some buckle rash, and not sure what’s going on with the spike area. The head looks very clean, so possible indication of low playing time.

Anyone wanna finance a $750 purchase, I can repay $1 a week for 750 weeks + interest LOL...

The interest would be the killer. How about $10 for 75 weeks (~1.5 years), or $5 for 150 weeks (~3 years), 0 interest?
