I came across this Flatt & Scruggs Sacred Songs & Picture Album book, along with a few other books at my local thrift store a couple of days ago, and was curious about the signatures on the back. There are a total of five signatures and I was able to read the Earl Scruggs (#3) and Lester Flatt (#4) signatures. I was able to learn that #1 might be Uncle Josh Graves and #2 might be Cousin Jake Tullock. It appears that number #5 might be the owner of this book who just tried to copy Lester Flatt's signature for whatever reason.

I'm not a musician or have any real knowledge of this genre of music, so I just wanted to get some help at is relates to the identification/authenticity of the signatures. Any thoughts what price range I should be looking at when I try to sell it?

1) Uncle Josh Graves

2) Cousin Jake Tullock

3) Earl Scruggs

4) Lester Flatt

5) someone copying Lester's signature?

I can't verify any signatures, but that is an incredible thrift store score!

That other autograph is indeed Cousin Jake, the bass player.

The added atteempt at Lester Flatt is someone trying to copy Lester I believe. Didn't do a very good job.

How did Paul Warren not get included? He NEVER MISSED A SHOW IN ALL HIS TIME WITH .F&S

You asked about value  / price range if you decide to sell this item.  I won't even attempt to "guesstimate" a price or value, however, Earl Scruggs, Lester Flatt, and all of the Foggy Mountain Boys were pretty accommodating when asked for their signatures, especially Earl.

There are  literally thousands, if not multiple thousands of books, posters, banjo heads, album covers, etc... that were signed by Earl Scruggs. Lester signed his autograph pretty much thousands of times also. These signatures are not "rare' by any stretch of the imagination.

Though somewhat historically significant, items like this are not particularly valuable.

Below is a Hatch Show Poster that has been signed by Earl, Lester, and Cousin Jake, as I stood in a theatre lobby and watched them sign it. Don't know how I missed Paul Warren, as he was there that night.  Seeing how I (an 8 yr old boy at the time) asked for autographs, watched the 'boys sign the poster, and listened as my Dad and Uncle engaged in some small talk with the band, this autographed poster has more sentimental value fo me, than it does monetary value.
