From Greylock to Bean Blossom - Posted - 10/12/2025:  06:10:44

While browsing the web, I heard a student playing a good slowed down version of Rocky Top and it led me to the  website of Bill Nesbitt. Bill teaches out of Arkansas and also via Skype. He has a great website (listed below) with Scruggs style tunes explained, tabbed, played at slow to fast speeds, and practice tracks. He also has a youtube site. As much time as I spend browsing all things banjo, I was surprised I had not heard of him before. He has put a lot of time and work into his site.

Bill has been around quite a long while. I used to visit his site many years ago he doesn't seem to get the draw on YouTube like other banjo pickers do, not sure why he has some great lessons. youtube.com/@williamanesbitt/videos

Thank you Ken, for bringing up this GREAT website and introducing me to Bill. I did not know him and his site before, but it seems to hold a wealth of good stuff for me.

Thx again.

Best regards from sunny Switzerland

Love his site! The few songs that I know and am practicing are from there. Seems like a helluva nice guy. Really appreciate his arrangements...doesnt dumb them down and come across as condescending nor does he flash them up trying to show off how good he is to get his ego stroked. FYI-he also has a BG guitar and mandolin site.
