Dad had this Daisy BB pistol. "WOODSMAN", if I remember right.
Just for the fun of it, he was shooting it into the back of the sofa, to see the dust clouds rise into the sunbeams coming in the window.
She advised him to stop, but he assured her that the tiny pellets were not powerful enough to do any harm.
So, when he put the pistol down, she picked it up, and shot him in the tummy area.
Of COURSE he was angry, but she assured him that " the tiny pellets were not powerful enough to do any harm"!
Oddly enough, this corked his anger, but he resented it for the next BUNDLE of DECADES! We learned NEVER to mention it while he was within hearing range.
(I wanted to say within EARSHOT, but some people might think she shot him in the ear!)
She would have been about a hundred and ten this year.
In the picture, guessing by the age of either me or brother Charlie, she might have been 30.
