This is a wonderful book. I am asking my banjo students to purchase this book as a syllabus to learn from. It covers pretty much every aspect of playing bluegrass banjo. The only thing I have not found so far, and it might be in there and I just haven’t seen it yet, is a reference to Tabledit tablature app. I teach how to learn a tune by ear but also how to use tablature. Tabledit is a great resource at a very reasonable price. Bill uses tablature all throughout the book and has audio and video online. This is a great reference.

I bought this Bill Evans book about six years ago and I find it invaluable. I reference often and I truly believe it to be a lifelong relevant and ongoing source of information and inspiration to a musician of any experience level. I highly recommend this book.
Additionally; check out this Bill Evans video. Good stuff.
