My wife, Amy and I will be teaching a class at John C Campbell Folk School, Playing in an Old Time String Band, this September 7 through 13. Come and join us for a fun week and a great place in Western North Carolina.

Sounds like a great class, Bob.Playing in the house (volunteer) stringband for the weekly contra dances in Louisville has been one of my many pleasures and sources of inspiration for years. There's so much to learn there, and it's a great setting for improving my playing.

David, I agree completely. House band gigs are great for improving your playing and enjoying a strong band dynamic. We have played at a restaurant every Friday for nearly ten years and now at a community supper twice a month in Saluda, NC since then. The same players with occasional guests and the range of tunes is absolutely astounding.
