I let iMovie do it for me. I believe there are selections for the size, purpose or format of exported or rendered video.

I do so few videos, I always have to look it up.

That link is instructions for making your own choices in size, quality and format for the shared video.



iMovie also provides a way to save a video as a file for use on social media. Maybe that just takes care of the size and format selections so you don't have to choose.

If you're on a Mac, it may also be possible to resize a video in QuickTime Player.
