Hello, I am reading the Crowe on the Banjo book by Marty Godbey. I’m about half way through and really enjoying it.
The reason for this thread is that she mentions a few times that people had made recordings of J.D with the Kentucky Mountain Boys playing live. In particular she talks about a recording made by a Ken Landreth on January 15, 1966 at Martin’s. I was wondering if anyone on here might know where I could a get copy of that recording - or any of those early J.D Crowe recordings.

Below are links to a couple of songs from a taping that I did at the Red Slipper Lounge in 1974. At one time, I think all of the songs from that taping were on YouTube. If I find any more, I'll post them. You should also be able to find Ken Landreth's recordings on YouTube. If you do a YouTube search on "J.D. Crowe Red Slipper Lounge" you should be able to find a number of recordings.
