Fellow banjo enthusiasts, be sure to check out the wealth of information at the Augusta Heritage Center Archives: augustaartsandculture.org/docu...-library/ This is a tremendous resource and depository of music recordings, photographs, and oral histories. Best of all, it's all free to stream.

I was listening to this recording today from a banjo workshop, 8/16/88: augustaartsandculture.org/docu...-16-1986/ Just superb stuff with recordings from Larry Rader, Gerry Milnes, Jimmy Costa, Ron Mullennex, and Frank George. It's a good place to start.

For those that are not aware, in 2022 the Augusta Heritage Center became a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Major initiatives during this current era are the redevelopment of the historic Wilt Building in downtown Elkins into the Augusta Heritage Center, broadening immersive programs, digitizing archives, and implementing year-round community-based programs for youth, families, and adults. Good stuff is happening at Augusta and there's a great line-up of instructors coming for 2025 summer workshops.
