Yes... I know this is a banjo forum, and that there are other sites probably for singing tips/questions, though probably not bluegrass or old time specific. Singing is a big part of this music and something that banjo players should be thinking about even if not doing. Maybe a crazy suggestion, especially since one can just ask it in other music forum, but would a dedicated singing forum inspire more discussion?
Come to think about it, perhaps a better suggestion... What about a bluegrasshangout/oldtime dot org? Where banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass, singers can hangout together discuss band topics, meet other musicians of our genre, musicianship as a band, inspire local bands/jams etc??? Could be links to the instrument specific hangouts rather than duplicating there.

I would love to have a singing forum that's dedicated to bluegrass/clawhammer, but I don't know if there would be enough interest generated for Eric to actually put one on here.
I agree with you: there's a lot of singing going on at festivals and jam sessions and a majority of musicians seem to be able to sing either lead or harmony or both plus play their instrument(s).
We'll see if anyone else agrees and gets interested.

I’d be interested, especially regarding singing harmony and singing while playing. I sing lead on a number of songs. I was invited to join a band primarily because I would sing and could play banjo. Seems like around my area most banjo players can’t or won’t sing.
A forum dedicated to singing would be good.
