Hello--couldn't find an earlier post in my browsing so:
Thinking about getting a Jones-Hatfield banjo pickup, but my banjo only has a single coordinator rod. Is this still moderately doable? Suggestions for mounting (considering I am not particularly handy if something needs to be made)? Thanks!

Actually, really any pickup being mounted on a single coordinator rod!

I'm sure there are other ways, but here's how I did it. I used a thick piece of plastic, but you could use wood. I drilled a hole a little larger than the coordinating rod, then sliced the piece of wood in half length ways through hole. So, that gave me a 2 mated pieces of wood that fit around the coordinating rod. Then, I drilled the wood in the other direction to receive the Hatfield mounting bolt. You may have to replace the Hatfield bolt with a longer one. I cut a piece of sand paper and wrapped it around the coordinating rod, rough side against the rod, and sandwiched it with the wooden halves, ran the Hatfield bolt and mount through the wood and tightened it.
I wish that I could say this was my idea, but someone gave me the concept that they used.
I wish that I'd taken photos, but have since sold that banjo. Maybe I'll hop on SketchUp and work up a diagram for you. I know that I am not explaining it well.
I performed with that banjo for many years and it never shifted or needed adjustment.
I hope this helps.

^^ illustration looks a LOT simpler than training a Pygmy Marmoset to sit in there and hold it in place.
