I haven't tried hooking it up yet but I will during rehearsal next Saturday. I'm using a Gold Tone dynamic pick up, mounted on the brackets of the pot. This goes into the active di box with a 1/4" patch cable. My di is actually sold in the keyboard section. But it should work.

I don't do much electronics nowadays, not sure what "DI" stands for.
My first Wrong Guess would be Divine Intervention, and my second, Drill Instructor.
While I can imagine how nice a banjo would sound with Divine Intervention.....

I shudder to imagine what having a banjo sound like THIS GUY was helping it would be.

Direct input.
Always seemed like a misnomer to me. I'd think a true "direct input" would be the cable from the output jack on an amplified instrument going directly into the PA board/mixing console. But I'd be wrong. Instead, the output from the instrument goes into a "DI" box (which is also a preamp, and some are sold as such) and then into the PA mixer.

Thanks.
I learn stuff here that they never bothered with, back in school.

The DB200 active di needs a 9V ac/dc adapter. I live near Peoria too. I found the di at Kidder Music, the voltage supply at Flores. It ended up sounding really good. I played at the 5 Points Gospel concert on October 5th.
