A well-known Carter Family song that they recorded in 1928. It was written by Ada Blenkhorn in 1899 and A.P. revised it somewhat, becoming the Carters theme song for many years. The Whites had it on the “O Brother, Where Art Thou” soundtrack.
I’m fingerpicking and flatpicking the D-35 here, with some vocals.

About 70 yrs ago there was a local 5 string player near Binghamton NY , Kit Kithcart , who had a 1 hr radio show Saturdays from Owego NY , w/ this song opening & closing the program .
I met him once at his farm house back in the hills near the finger lakes & he was the most congenial & friendly person u could meet & showed me any thing he could on his Mastertone . Before he passed his son Carl took up the banjo & became a good player . To this day one of his daughters still puts together an annual fest called the Busy Bird & plays mandolin & sings w/ her own group . What a BG family !

Very fine picking and a most enjoyable rendition, Chuck, good job. I also found and liked your "I'll Fly Away", which I play with my singalong circle and now I'm going to add "Sunny Side" to our list.
