On my cover of Harold Hausenfluck's banjo album through the Field Recorder's Collective (FRC 702) he appears to be playing a Gibson 00. Is this accurate? I've not seen other pictures of it and I've twice mistaken older photos of Gibson RB100s when the distinctive headstock was obscured.

The banjo in the picture is a Gibson 00. Whether or not it was his only banjo is a big question.
I knew he was a fiddler, but I didn't know he played banjo, too.

Thanks, Mark. I appreciate the second set of eyes to confirm.

Someone once asked Harold if he had ever learned to read music. He replied that he could read music if it was written in Braille, but he couldn't read and play at the same time.

The banjo on that cover is a Gibson RB-00 as noted.
I had the pleasure of spending a good amount of time with Harold at Mt Airy one year. Might of been either 1981 or 1982. At the time he had a lovely early Whyte Laydie # 2 banjo with him.
