I have been using this free app on my PC for years. It is brilliant. However, for some time now my antivirus (Malwarebytes Premium) has been alerted to multiple malware risks from this software. Yet when I did a scan yesterday, no problems were reported. So much so that I am thinking of uninstalling it. I am now looking around for a replacement. This has to be freeware.
Any opinions?

I ran into the same thing. It was a great app but got corrupted somehow . I have various options. What are you trying to do specifically?

Just reformat video and music files plus other files as the need arises. I can use FF but keep getting these popup messages.

I use an online utility freeconvert
It works for most things, and doesn't pester you with click bait.
For anything else, I use my video editor. But of course you have to pay for that.
