His music was a big influence in my life, especially being Canadian and all. Many folk, bluegrass, and pop singers recorded his songs,, notably J.D.Crowe and the New South (the landmark Rounder 0044 album had 2 Lightfoot songs : You Are What I Am, and Ten Degrees and Getting Colder),, Bob Dylan,, Cliff Waldron and the New Shades of Grass,, Kenny and Amanda Smith,, Peter, Paul, and Mary,, Ian & Sylvia,, Marty Robbins,, The Country Gentlemen,, Elvis Presley,, Barbara Streisand ,, & on and on.
