Chris Coole told me sometime last year that they recorded Afield with the Audio-Technica Pro 35. Said it gave him a good sound and was easy to use. I've just now decided to buy one but what I've figured out is I don't know how to mount it. He said he put it inside his banjo but with the clip it has I'm not sure how to do this.
Could I possibly use velcro strips to strap it to the rod? Where should it be pointing and at what distances should I aim for?
Thank you,
John

The velcro would work, I've done that and it works just fine.

I have used the AT Pro 70 for years. My son-in-law is the world's foremost fork artist (fork-art.com), so I took one of his forks and made a mount for the rim that slides on the brackets. It works well, but he complains it is not art.

A few years ago I made a mount for an AT lavalier mic. It is made using cork and a stiff but moldable (insulated) wire.
Fits between the head and dowel stick.
I don't have the mic any longer. But pictures of the mount are below.
Works great!
