Hi y’all
I’m using an EMG barrel pickup. It sounds really good, like a nice full rich banjo sound but I’ve noticed that there is a fair bit of noise when turning the pot / volume control up and down and it cuts out when on full and cuts back in again on a lower setting. I’m assuming it may be possible to fix rather than buy a new control? Any ideas as to what to look for? I’m going to clean it carefully with something like pure alcohol. Thanks. Tim

Try blowing it out with compressed air. Cans of it can be found at computer and electronics stores. That may or may not fix it but it's a place to start.

Hmm, well it turns out I may have wired the connection in backwards! Doh ????

Thanks Mark, it’s a bit embarrassing tbh but it does work now. ! ????
