Hi Folks,
I have not been very active on line recently but am traveling this spring and summer. I am in Knoxville this weekend and most of next week hanging at BG banjo great and buddy Jack Hatfield's place.
I can be available for lessons in person or by skype and if anyone is interested in hosting a "flash house concert" it could happen! I would also love some recommendations on good places to hike, bike and do some photography.
I will be doing a clawhammer workshop at Nashville Banjo Company in Nashville on April 22 - contact them directly to sign up. It is being sponsored by NBC so while there is no charge to attend, attendance is VERY limited.
I had planned to do a concert on the 21st just outside of town but that has fallen through. Let me know if you want to schedule a last minute event. We can talk.
From there I have a few dead weeks so I plan to head up to KY to do some Bourbon Trail wandering. Airstream in tow.
May 5 & 6 will find me in Philly (PA) for a house concert Friday eve and a Banjo Basics workshop on the 6th. (I would like to find a place south of DC to park the trailer for a couple of weeks - pm me if interested in hosting).

Short drive from Knoxville to Tellico Plains which is a beautiful area, with some hiking trails. Before my knees went bad on me I used hike an old service road that runs along "State Line Creek" which is where the last USFS campsite is along the Tellico river. Easy walk, and some pretty scenery.
Here is Bald River Falls which is seen from the road along the river.

If you want to jam with a few locals, there are several of us - anywhere from four or five to maybe ten or so - that gather at The Abbey Pub in Townsend on Sunday afternoons from four 'til six.

Nice craft ales and light food (sandwiches, flatbreads, salads) right on Little River. Always looking for visiting musicians to add to the flavor!
