Found another Bart Reiter for sale, fretless maple neck and body. It arrived tonight and I was surprised to find a short scale, I think they refer to them as parlor size in the box. Build date is 1996. Anybody have any experience with parlor size banjos?

Bart's son was looking for one of two short scale banjos made in the early '90s with Coles Eclipse 3000 style inlays — don't believe he found one. We had a conversation going as I have one of the full scale necks on a Vegaphone Professional conversion.

What is the scale length?

Bart made a model he called "A-flat" scale  That was approx 24 3/4". 

Prior to 1994 he made banjos with "true" A-scale length (23 1/4")  Those are almost exactly the length of his full-scale necks - as if shortened at the 2nd fret. 

I also had a very short-scale, fretted Reiter banjo back in the early 1990s. Bart called it a "C" scale (less than 19"). I used it as a travel banjo because it easily fit into an overhead bin on an airplane. VERY cool banjo. I wrote a bunch of tunes on it. Should have kept it. But I let it go when I changed jobs and stopped traveling so much.

My apologies everybody, I don’t play banjo I just pay banjo. My son plays I pay and in this instance it turns out my lack of real experience had me mislead to thinking I purchased a parlor size banjo when in reality it looks like I purchased a Bart Reiter special fretless scooped neck banjo. Please forgive my lack of experience.
