We are at Crowe Fest, in Clay City, KY. As a fundraiser, you can donate $100 and play Banjer on stage. This is at the Meadowgreen Music Park, which is apparently owned by Ricky Wassen.



Terry Baucum is playing now, Ralph Stanley II will play later, and they will have the second day of the New South Reunion. I was told that they will have the JD's banjo charity playing later on stage again.

Today would have been JD's 85th birthday. He passed away Dec 24th, 2021. Rest in Peace. These are some of the last pictures I have of JD.

Jen .... I always enjoyed talking to JD at Banjothon, but I would always wait until toward the end when he was not surrounded by a bunch of people and I never talked about banjos with him.  We usually talked about cars, which he loved, and his granddaughter, whom he was so proud of.  I always thought he got enough banjo talk form eberyone else!

I was able to talk to JD at Dollywood, when they had a BBQ and Bluegrass. He played in one of the theaters and nobody hung around. That is one of those cherished memories.
