Hey guys I just wanted to let everyone know I created new series of Reno style instruction videos called "Reno-vations" a few months back. A lot of my past instruction videos are very in depth note for note explanations and can be 30 to 45 min long. Some folks don't want to invest that much time into a video and just want to learn a few lick or techniques. So these videos are much shorter and focus on just one or two licks. I'll post the link to the playlist below.

This is great! I love your full videos, but you’re right that they can be a bit lengthy. It’ll be nice to sit down and learn a lick or two in a shorter amount of time. Thank you!

You're welcome! I always try to fully explain things the way I would want them explained to me or like I would if I was teaching someone in person. Add there's so much going in Reno's tunes that it takes time to go through the whole thing with someone. I think these bite sized videos will be good for those that don't want to take a deep dive into Reno style but want to throw in a Reno lick or two.

Exactly! Then once people get a few licks under their belts, it'll be easier for them to tackle the full tunes.

I actually teach most of these licks in my other longer videos at some point or another.  My very first series of videos are designed to teach you the basics of Reno style and then use what you learn in the advanced Reno style series.  That way you can build on what you learn as you go. If you take the time to go through the beginning Reno style videos in order, it will help you understand Don's style a lot more than just learning a few licks and make it easier to learn the more advanced Reno tunes. But like I said a lot of folks don't want to take the time to do all that.  So the Reno-vations series will be kind of a "crash course" to hopefully get people interested enough to take a deeper dive into Reno style.  And the beginning series and advanced series will be there if they do.

I just want to say thank you for what you do Jason! You are a Reno master and the time and effort you have put into helping anybody that wants to learn (or watch a video of) Reno style is worthy of high praise! Thanks for your dedication to and keeping Reno style banjo going!
