Joe,
As I understand it, after the passing of Mr. Parish, the venue would have to more stringently comply with Boulder Co. size restrictions to be held at P.R.
The organizers put in a lot of work and personal expense to keep it going. I think, that, with some guidance and sharing of experience from the "tribal elders," it might be time for the younger set to take the reins and carry on either at Parish Ranch or another area location.

Hi, Joe. I played with you on several occasions at the CROMA Festival. I played the banjo when I went to the 4 or 5 festival's I attended. I camped next to Jack Beuthin each time I was there. Jack assumed a leadership role with CROMA and they have been diligently looking for an alternative location. It just didn't work out.
The Parrish Ranch venue was in violation of several Boulder County regulations and could not overcome those obsticles. So, that venue was "off the table". They researched several locations. Boy Scout and church camps along the front range and there were no solutions that worked out. He pretty much "passed the torch" on to other's and no solution has made itself apparent.
I really enjoyed the CROMA festival and will really miss it. I hope that new people, with really good luck, can come up with another venue but, I wouldn't hold my breath. I drove for 7 hours to attend the festival for several years and it was one of the highlights of my O.T. musical journey. I'm so grateful for the people who put on such a great event and feel really sad that the prospect of having another event as great as that one now seems like just a dream.
And, all of this happened after I finally got, somewhat, "up to speed" on my fiddle playing. I was looking forward to "burdening" others with my fiddle playing. Sigh. Now, I just have to be satisfied with playing my fiddle, downstairs, in my music room![]()
