Here is a great concert from J.D. when he had Keith Whitley singing with him. The sound quality is really good for a field recording and J.D.s banjo comes across great. Got to put this one on a CD and hear it in the car or the I-pod.

Mercy! Really really fine in so many ways! The sound was just right for their vocals, very warm and "present". Crowe is snapping off hot licks after every sung line in "Sin City" like he's really enjoying himself.
Ric is sure right about Whitley's singing, also his emcee work shows the Ralph Stanley training! Business-like. And I can't ever recall hearing Keith pick G runs and other stuff on guitar!! Very cool to hear him do this.
