Somebody's gotta know the name of this tune from the movie Young Guns. I've searched the web with no luck. There is a clawhammer banjo player playing at the brothel where Billy kills the bounty hunter. Please help.

I can't hear quite enough to define the tune(s), as his audio keeps getting ducked down behind the dialogue... I can tell he's in "double C" tuning, and switches from a major key to minor about halfway through the clip.

Same thoughts a Dan - however, I'm curious if we could figure out who that banjo player is? Are they playing a Flesher banjo? (just looking at the headstock...). once you've got the person's name, maybe you could contact them to ask?

Hmm. No response to that one, either.
Checking the official credits for the film, I see nothing about a banjoist, bar musician, or any such...
It's not a real high-res clip, but the guy looks a bit like Ken Perlman to me....

The clawhammer player has a lot of similarities with Blanton Owen, but has another playing style

I've been playing/singing Marty Robbin's version of "Billy the Kid" lately. Looks like Billy is not adverse to banjo music so I guess I am OK/safe for a while....banjered
