I'll go back and watch this Came up randomly on my youtube feed. Impressive...and a good listen.

After 40 years of clawhammer play I have recently been trying to learn three finger and bluegrass style. One thing I notice is that playing more full four-finger chords is a challenge for both strength and flexibility of my left hand. My left thumb is my weakest link to up the neck chords. It occurred to me that regular yoga has improved my arthritic knees 95%, and perhaps I could improve my hand strength in the same way. After only a short time the results are encouraging. I can practice hand stretches while driving or watching TV, or sitting at my desk. My playing is more comfortable and precise, and I no longer feel skeptical about my ability to achieve my goals to learn and improve.
