I think it would behoove us all to post one video at a time. Some folks today have posted many consecutively which buries the previous videos by others.

I can't argue. I see it as a courtesy and I've never posted more than two in a week.

This has come up before. A cooldown period for posting videos was suggested, which would fix the problem I think. Only one video per user per 24hr period.

I agree chuckv97 and yes YellowSkyBlueSun it certainly has come up many times before, although I didn't notice the instance(s) you may be referring to, and yes Nic Pennsylvania I always follow my rule of never having more that one music post on the new postings page . Years ago I brought this up and was soundly flamed during the long discussion that ensued. Some people agreed with me and others definitely did not. ( I have a record of the thread but can't seem to find it using the BHO search).
In some instances it could be that the posters are new to the site and don't realize the ramifications of doing it. Others may not be new but either were thoughtless of simply don't care. When I saw this happen, especially by a newbie, I used to send a PM with an explanation and a gentle suggestion to spread out postings. Eventually I got tired of being the "Posting Monitor Police" and gave up, just accepting the reality that it's going to happen every now and then. I think if someone were posting some music and saw it bumped off the new posting page quickly and really wanted to get the music some exposure, the poster could delete the post and re-post after all of the multiple poster's stuff got bumped off. Another suggestion is to post a topic in the sound off forum to generate some more interest.
Among the comments from my post years ago was the following from Eric Slange:
"As the site owner, I want to be state clearly--I want people to upload every banjo-related MP3 they've got. If that means it's a BIAB backing track--so be it. If that means it's pretty crappy playing--alright. If it means something top-notch--that's great, too.
The tools are there to be used. Posting lots of MP3s at once isn't abusing the system--it's using it properly.
Some folks may not agree with that, and that's certainly your right. But I get to make the rules. "
So, like it or not Chuck, your suggestion is unfortunately going nowhere.

I can understand Eric's point as well. I suppose for me it would be akin to dominating a conversation. It isn't against the law, but it can be seen as unmannerly.
I do enjoy that we have the feature. I like being able to see and hear how other people approach a known song as well as how others utilize the banjo toward their original ideas.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. It’s not an ego thing with me,, to get exposure or not - & I did post it on the Sound Off forum. It just seemed rude to see two people posting multiple videos the other day ,,, but I think one is new and didn’t know the unwritten rules, so to speak.

bombing the page, yep a regular occurrence with newbies and folks that have bad manners. I usually keep mine to 1 at top area and one way down. As a daily viewer I get a feel for how they are moving. A couple of days usually they run their course.
The guy always putting them on there for sale kinda bombed it once .but usually not. He must have had a financial emergency at the house.
Cool that you found Eric's response on that Ric, my response to that got me in some hot water.Eric went from a 10 vid page to 20 vids after that and helped a lot.
I was raised where the plate was passed and every one took only one piece at a time and I always figured that was best .
For some reason self centered acting by folks, still does not sit good .
Nowdays if I get bombed I just delete mine and repost a dy or 2 later.
final thought those that do this hurt their total views and likes and I usually find solace in their downfall

Exactly. Agree with everything here. Even when I'm feeling inspired and motivated, I try to limit myself to one post a week, at most.

I always go with the flow on when to throw another on.If it has not moved much I might throw one on regardless of when I put the last one on. I always erase them from my page so it won't build up. So if I have one that has gone dead down below I give it the ax to keep things fair. I have about 200 sitting on you tube,Sometimes I am tempted to throw 19 on top of one of the rude bombers,
