My apologies if this has been covered before. I did a search and didn't find anything.
I'm looking for a cradle style strap that'll work on a B&D Silver Bell. I don't want to use a strap with metal clips that attach to the j hooks. However, there seems to be very little room between the hooks and shoes for any type of strap that I've found. I have a Lakota leather strap and there's no way this leather is slipping in that small gap! The leather is just too wide and thick.
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I have used leather boot laces to attach straps. Works a treat.

I have a strap that should work fine on a B&D Silverbell, although it’s on a Gibson 5 string. I have a B&D Tenor also.
It’s the Earl Scruggs strap sold by Jim Mills for $45.00. You can visit his site by going to, prewargibsonbanjos.com, then go to the online store.
The banjo hooks go through loops on the strap, no metal parts, simple design.

Thanks for the suggestions. The boot laces sound like a great idea in the meantime.
