I have inherited a Bart Reiter banjo and it may be going up for sale soon (I need the cash more than the instrument at this point). Below are some pics. If anyone knows anything about it and how much a fair asking price should be, please let me know. Thanks

Hmm. Most of his that I have seen have ebony peghead overlay with at least a star. Are there any markings inside the pot that might show us what model this is?

My guess is that this is an early Student model, which is no longer made. Bart Reiter is a member here and you might want to contact him for info.

Yes, it would be a Student model which was then slightly upgraded and renamed the Standard model. Value is $700-800.

I like that a lot—has a nice, clean Spartan quality about it. Unfortunately, my wife has this thing about me buying banjos for keeps now that I can no longer play (saving my Reiter for one of my daughters).
Somebody's going to be very happy to own that.
