There was a thread a long while back about this out-of-print collection. Someone had pulled down their post of it pending re-release by family. Years past and they reposted (elsewhere), after nothing was done to actually rerelease/reprint the collection. I even recall there had been efforts and inquiries into monetizing downloads for the family’s benefit in lieu of a formal reprint/publication. Apparently the family did not engage with the independent effort (others her will have a better explanation, since I only read about it in a distant thread). If you google a bit, you will find it as I did. Not interested in violating this site’s wise copyright terms. Just saying it’s out there to have for those who would pursue.

If the ebay book was an original paperback book, but used, it is no against the copyright to sell it. If it is copied on paper or pdf it is!

I've had a copy for forty years. A few years ago I bought a like new copy for a backup. I love his playing and still reference his tabs. John is active on Facebook.

I am quite aware of how copyright works, janalov. I think you missed the point of my post (and particularly about essentially not posting even a link to the questionable PDF). This is a hotly pursued work out of print. Nice for whoever bought this particular copy, but the larger unavailability remains.

Yes, it's a cool book and John's intro notes are of interest... kind of a snapshot of the period in which the book was originally published (1968?). Definitely a collector's item.

I think the original edition may have been published by an outfit called AMSCO.
I bought another copy in the very early '90's and it seems like it was published by Oak Publications and
included a soundsheet. I've still got one of those copies but it's packed away at present.

I have that book but never spent much time with it. As I recall, the measure lines are nuts! I'll have to give it another look.
