Here is the tune for January, Killavil Jig, played by me:

And for those of you on Facebook, here is Gerry O'Connor and Fergal Scahill playing it on day 318 of his fiddle tune a day.  I can't find it on Youtube.:

It sure would be great to see a few more people posting to the tune here, join in the fun!  Heck, make it your New Year's resolution!

Such a good tune, keep playing that. (I haven't played that in donkey's (y)ears ... though I know the chords .. maybe. Really nice tune, so, what is one to play after that?

Best wishes to you and yours, always,

Tomás

I play it as follows: Killavil, Swallowtail, Hearty Boys of Ballymote, only because those were jigs I didn't already have in other sets, and since nobody really knows Killavil and Hearty Boys at my local session I mostly play it alone or with my wife.

Thanks Dan and Bribak. I enjoyed learning this tune and look forward to adding it to the local session.

Nicely done, Brian. A modest suggestion: There are places in the tune where you treble each time through. Try a variation by simply playing 3 eighth notes, or even holding the dotted quarter note. Adding a little unpredictability makes the tune more interesting to others, and it will help you stay focused on both the noting and rhythm.

Hope this helps.

Larry

Thanks for the suggestion Larry. I will work on varying the ornaments more.

Inspired by Dan and Brian's versions I've had a go, with bouzouki backing
