A recent DVD give away reminded me that I wanted to give away some instructional books I have. They are the Hal Leonard Banjo Method Books, 1 and 2 (book 1 has the CD) and the 2 Easy Solo books that go along with them. So - 4 books total - these books (new) would cost over $30.
My first choice would be to give them to someone about to retire or already retired who is an aspiring player or new to the banjo world. My second choice would be to give them to high school or college age student who is interested in learning to play or new to the banjo.
So, here's the deal: PM me through the Hangout if you're interested. Tell me in 25 words or less (those of you of my generation will remember that phrase) why you would like to have the books. I'll wait until some time next week for people to read this (since it is New Years weekend) and respond, then I'll make up my mind and followup with the lucky recipient.
If so inclined, the recipient can offer to reimburse me for the shipping costs (probably about $4 or so), but this will NOT be a factor in my decision (and don't put that in your PM).

What a Nice Gesture.
Have enough books already, so I'm not in this at all.
Just wanted to let you know that at least one person thinks you're trying to be nice.

I agree, what a nice thing to do. I may look at my books and see what I have to give to some aspiring banjo player, too.

I gave an almost-new banjo case to a kid in another state that needed one.
It felt good to do and less dust collectors in my closet.
This could be a trend for the new year. .... Banjo challenge...like the "Ice-bucket" one. Let's give forward!!

Not ready to retire, but will be 41 in January and just picking up the banjo. I'll probably need all the help I can get.

When you do get around to shipping, be sure to tell the post office it is "print material" (books), you'll get a better rate.
