I am making me a complete 5 string bluegrass arrangement of I'll Fly Away. Banjo, guitar and bass. Using current tabs.Intro, verses and choruses with space for fiddle and mandolin breaks so I can practice  backup. After I learn the breaks and backup can I mute the banjo and only hear the guitar and bass to practice with? Thanks in advance for any help.

You should be able to take out the banjo portion and leave the rest.  I'm not sure how, as I don't have the purchased software, but someone will let you know how to do that.

I'm also moving your thread to the Tab Forum.  We have a sticky on Tabledit questions and answers and you'll probably get more answers on that forum than on other banjo related.

Pull down the menu MIDI to the bottom, Midi options, and uncheck the tracks you don't want to hear.  You will need to set up each instrument in a different section using the Score dropdown, and adding the additional instruments, which it sounds like you already know about.

Upper right corner, where instruments are listed by number (1, 2, 3, 4...), just above the number is a green bar, click the bar on the instrument you want to mute and it will turn red and mute the track.

Yes, and under the midi option there is a volume slider for each instrument - you can lower the volume of the banjo, maybe just leave a hint of it.  Works great for practicing.  TablEdit is the best tool you can have for learning.
