Have any of you tried using Oasis Classical Guitar strings on your banjo? I used to play classical guitar and they were my favorite strings.

I haven't tried Oasis, and, personally have come to prefer strings somewhat lighter than standard classic guitar strings 1 thru 4; 0.024", 0.029", 0.034", 0.026"w.

An after-thought: My scale is 24 inches, so for a 26 1/4 inches or so scale, I would reduce the string diameters by 0.002" each.

I am not a classical guitar player, but I do have a 1900 S.S. Stewart with a mixture of nylgut and Martin Classical guitar strings. That banjo has a standard scale (26 3/16") and is usually tuned to G. The only problem is I eyeballed the replacements and cannot even remember which strings were replaced. My 4th string is unwound and I know it came from the guitar set, so it is probably a guitar 3rd. I think the 1st is a guitar 1st and the 5th may be a guitar 2nd, but I have also used fishing line for the 1st and 5th in the past.. I know banjo builder Brooks Masten supplies new banjos with guitar strings if you order it with nylon. I am pretty sure he uses the 1st 4 on a direct substitution basis for the banjo and then gets the 5th from a 1st in the second set. I really do not like the failure mode of wound nylon strings, however.
