Need a hard-shell case for a gourd banjo? Make or buy? But what off-the-shelf case could possibly work? Answer: Case for a Greek Bouzouki.

I bought a Roosebeck brand case and it worked out great! Pretty good case too. Had to do a minor rework on one of the buckles but a little epoxy did the trick. Online reviews indicated other buyers found problems with loose poorly installed buckles too. Well, it's hard to find good assemblers I guess . . . "If you pay peanuts you get monkeys" is the old saying. However, the case itself is solid and very nice! Anyway. I'm pretty happy to now have a good case because I am performing a lot with my gourd banjo now. Here it is. Maybe it would work for your gourd banjo? The second photo below gives you inside dimensions. I cut some dense foam with my electric carving knife and filled the extra empty spaces with foam. The case's neck is wide enough to make room for the fifth string peg too. I cut the foam so that its sits off to one side a bit. Perfect!
