What Tempo and Syncopation settings do you guys generally select for Waltz Time ?

Between 120 and 130 bpm and definitely not straight eights, but one of the swing settings.

First setting would be the Score /Time Signature and set it to 3 in the top box and 4 in the lower one. Now you have 3/4 time. As you type the notes you should see three beats or 6 "eighth" notes per measure.

Hi Ken

Thanks for your reply.  My query was about Tempo and Syncopation settings. Not how to set the time signature and beats in the measure.

Tam,

To help you with this, go to "score" (the speaker icon) in your upper Tabledit palettes? There you will find "time signature" and select the your time signature i.e. 2/4, 4/4, 3/4 etc., and again use the midi options and use the up and down arrows to select the speed you want.

For the syncopation, select 0, straight eighths, or  1 for jazz eighths or, 2 for swing eighths...hope that helps. This of course assuming you are using the Tabledit program...good luck...Jack   p.s. I could probably help you with your min. 7 dom 7 chord etc. dilema also but you'd have to email me to avoid the confusion that comes with so many Forum posts addressing your query.

Hi Jack

I guess should have said, I know how to config TablEdit for Waltz Time.

I was just seeking a consensus of opinion of what most folks set the Tempo and Syncopation

The sort of replies I expected were

Tabber A - Tempo 120  Syncopation Jazz Eights 2

Tabber B - Tempo 100  Syncopation Jazz Eights 1

Etc ......
