There are a lot doesn't mean some long,tedious struggle.It's a huge smorgasboard of pick what you like.
Listen to all the bluegrass fiddletunes you can find from Bob Black and Butch Robins work with Monroe for a great starting point.
Once you learn a few fiddletunes the new ones become much easier as you learn to navigate in D and A.
Anything by Kenny Baker serves as "essential" bg fiddlletunes.

Yea this thread has definitely devolved to an arbitrary listing of as many fiddle tunes as possible. I already have my list! I'm going to post a recording of me taking a stab at Big Sciota tonight. It won't be perfect but I've put a lot of work into it.

Some people are reading this that are interested in more choices than just the stereotypical handful.
