I'm experimenting for fun with nylon strings on an Irish tuned tenor banjo (G2 D3 A3 E4). On a 19 fret banjo with a ~23'' scale, what gauges and brand would you recommend? I'd like the tension to be as high as possible while making for a bright, warm, and full tone. I think I'd like plain nylon for the trebles and metal wound nylon for the basses.

After you asked last time, you got me curious so I went through a whole bunch of experimenting with different guages and string types to see what worked the best for me and my banjo. What I have settled on is using the D'Addario Extra Hard Tension classical set and using the low E, A, D and B strings. This means that the A string is wound but that is what ended up sounding the best for me.
