Does anyone know if Faye McGinnis is still living? She used to be the president of Ralph Stanley's fan club. My Uncle "Lee Allen" who cut some albums on Jalyn Records and Old Homestead Records would like to know. He said that she always gave him great reviews on the back of his albums.

In John Wright's "Travelling The Highway Home" book, there's an interview with Fay McGinnis that says she was (c1993) co-running a cable TV show "Mountain Echoes" out of Wyandotte, Michigan.
I tried googling "Fay McGinnis Wyandotte" & several sites can up with an address & phone number - I don't know how up to date those sites are - she must be quite elderly, if she is still around...

Hello this is Faye McGinnis, I am well and thank you for thinking of me. I live in Riverview, Michigan and retired, I live at a facility called Rivergate Terrace in Riverview Michigan. Here is the address if you care to write 14141 Pennsylvania Road. I remember hearing the Stanley Brothers, the big surprise was them coming to Detroit, me and my husband called up and went to the show and meet them, and they very friendly. With my surprise they went to Dayton Ohio, and Stanley Carter called and asked me if I could take over their fan club, and at that point I said sure. The club went national and international level. I would sat at night after my children went to bed, I worked on the fan club. I remember Ralph winning a trophy in Nashville. Roy and I went to Nashville to visit. Another memory was the Stanley brother stop in Ohio, and got their clothes stolen out of their care ( they did not have there bus). I love to reminisce, and have more stories

Hi Faye,
I'm completely stunned.... Whenever the Banjo Hangout get's a contribution from people like yourself, who played a part in the development & survival of bluegrass, at a time when the festivals had yet to take off & there were no magazines like "Bluegrass Today", let alone websites etc etc. Well , it's made my day!
In the interview with John Wright, you mentioned how Carter Stanley played you a Jack Lynch & The Lee Brothers 45 of "Will You Miss Me" (Jalyn) - with Roy Lee Centers on vocals. Did Carter know Roy Lee in person or had he just heard the recording?
Also what was Larry Sparks like back then & do you still have the whittling stick that Carter & George Shuffler gave you?
I'd love to hear any stories you have!
Thanks
Ivor
