Made myself a mount for my Snark in the heel/rim corner to get it off the peghead.  I'm a much happier camper now.

I bought some Ball Head Screwback Buttons on Ebay in the 7mm ball diameter size*.  Then I used a tailpiece angle bracket under the tension bracket with the ball stud mounted on it.  The ball stud is slightly smaller than the Snark ball so I wrapped the ball with a layer of Scotch tape to tighten the fit, popped on the Snark removed from it's stem and Bob's yer uncle.

* There's little on the Tandy Leather Ball Studs that measures close to their published dimensions.  Buy from them and you too can have some extra hardware on hand that you paid too much for and may possibly use one day.

You can buy the Snark mounts for $5.00, snap, click, done.

You can't see it down in the corner where it's out of the way and it won't fit on my 28 and 30 bracket Tubaphones.

If Snark made the "neck" about 1/4" longer, it  would allow for some adjustment [to optimize the angle of the face].   Otherwise it's A-1.

Here's a useful update.  I've found that a Tubaphone closed end ball tension nut also works for mounting the Snark to the bracket.  The size of the ball varies according to who made them but you can use several layers of aluminum foil around the ball end to tighten the Snark fit.  It doesn't have quite as much adjustment range as the ball studs, but with the Snark in the neck/rim corner and the ability to rotate the bracket I can easily put the Snark in a location where it's convenient to see.

I used to just put a Planet Waves NS Tuner on the dowel sticks of my banjos.
